Mandy Woo is a composer, producer, arranger, music educator and multi-instrumentalist from Toronto, Canada. She is fascinated by the power of music to tell stories and is passionate about bringing listeners to a different time and space. Mandy is a graduate of the University of Toronto (B.Mus. in Composition, Piano) and Queen's University (B.Ed. in Intermediate/Senior Instrumental Music and History). She obtained her ARCT in Piano Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music, Canada in 2009. Mandy offers custom music fit for any project or occasion. Mandy was a finalist for the Fairchild Radio Toronto Song-Writers Quest (2015), participated in the 2016 Orchestral Reading Session held by The Screen Composers Guild of Canada and was a regional finalist in the CBC Searchlight competition for 2016 and 2017 for the songs "Wings" and "Blank Dice". Her music project postmoderndisco is a personal outlet for exploring ambient soundscapes. She has performed postmoderndisco music with a live band at venues such as the Hard Rock Cafe, Toronto Pearson International Airport, Queen West Art Crawl, Aga Khan Museum, Daniels Spectrum (Artscape), events such as AsialiciousTO, Taste of Kingston, Canadian Music Week, Nuit Blanche, and has opened for Jon Neufeld of Starfield. This year she was a participant in the 2021 SOCAN Screen Music Laboratory for Emerging Composers and the Toronto Strings Composition Workshop with the Grenadier String Quartet.
